Le Beaujolais Nouveau Arrives in 2010

All over France today, people are celebrating the arrival of the Beaujolais Nouveau.

Each year, on the third Thursday in November, Beaujolais wine producers release a young wine made from Gamay grapes that has only been fermented for a few weeks before it is bottled and sold.

In Sydney, celebrations begin ahead of France with signs proclaiming Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé!

Last year, we celebrated at Moncur Terrace with a food and wine match prepared for the occasion. Tonight, we’re clinking glasses at home and toasting a musical Santé! before adding another memento to the collection of Beaujolais Nouveau bottles on the kitchen shelf.
