This is the work of Superbien, a creative French agency renowned for its lighting design with animation, photography and projections that are tailored to specific environments.

Now in its third year, the festival is popular with visitors, Sydneysiders and photographers vying for a vantage position.

  3. Wow – loving the photos! Can’t wait to check it out ;)

  4. What gorgeous photographs! I’m so jealous that you got to catch these before the weather took a torrential turn… I’m still waiting for it to clear up so I can get snap-happy down by the opera house as well :) x

    • Thanks Mary. We just made it to see the Lighting of the Sails and a few Lights On sculptures before it poured with vengeance. Must bring umbrella next time!

  5. Simply wow… I like the sense of movement in these pictures. Well done!

    • I’m glad the photos gave you an idea of the movement. There was a 3D crystal-like image that floated from one sail to another – amazing!

  6. So pretty, like fireworks almost! :)

  7. not very original, but I echo the prior ‘wows’ That is one impressive lighting display!

    • This is the 3rd year they do it and it’s a lot more ‘alive’ than previous years. Have you seen something similar in your travels? It would be great to see Superbien’s work elsewhere.

  8. I was at the Opera House today and I’m still in awe everytime I go there. Can’t wait to go to the Lang Lang concert this month! :)

    • I think we tend to take it for granted living in Sydney but when we see something so spectacular, we’re reminded of how beautiful it is as a structure. Enjoy the concert! :)
