The OUTPOST PROJECT sees more than 150 artists transform the industrial spaces of Cockatoo Island into a canvas of urban art. The first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, the event is set to demonstrate Australia’s leading role in the street art movement.
Aside from art installation which include aerosol art, stencilling, sticker art and cup rocking, OUTPOST offers street sports, DJ’s, tours and a changing weekend events program.
Below are some images taken during OUTPOST.
World Heritage listed Cockatoo Island is a former convict precinct that recently held the Cocktail Island festival and is home to the Island Bar, a concept bar made from shipping containers.
Cockatoo Island can be reached from Circular Quay by ferry. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes. Entry to OUTPOST is free with the ferry ticket. OUTPOST runs from 4 November to 11 December 2011.
