World Cocktail Week launch at Cargo Lounge
Now in its second year at the Keystone Group, World Cocktail Week is an initiative of The Museum of the American Cocktail which is based in New Orleans.
The aim of World Cocktail Week is to promote better understanding and appreciation of the art of the cocktail and its history – all in the spirit of responsible drinking. Historically, the date is a commemoration of the first printed definition of the word “Cocktail” in the 1806 edition of The Balance and Columbian Repository.
The program put together by Keystone is to celebrate the spiritual home of the cocktail, the US of A. “We also want to give some insight into the rich history a lot of cocktails have through stories, images and most importantly, lots of cocktails” said Jason Williams, Keystone’s Group Cocktail Manager.
World Cocktail Week is celebrated over 10 days this year, involving a diverse range of parties, activities and seminars. All events are free and most of them open to the public.
