Aperitivo hour. It’s that civilised Italian tradition where you go to a bar after work, order a drink and you’re offered complimentary nibbles as an accompaniment. In Italy, it can range from a full antipasto platter to some finely shaved prosciutto, salted cod on crostini or a regional speciality. Stuzzi Bar in Westfield Sydney carries that tradition.
Spiedo Restaurant and Stuzzi Bar
While it may not have the same romance as a quaint bar you discover in Milano, the location on Level 6 offers a quieter reprieve from the shopping centre environment.
Prosecco and complimentary nibbles – Aperitivo hour
Between 5pm and 6pm, it’s difficult to say no to a glass of Italian Prosecco with complimentary nibbles from the Chef for $5.00.
The food menu is always tempting at Spiedo, or Stuzzi Bar – the line always gets a little blurred. You can sit inside the restaurant and order the same dishes as you would in the bar area. The focus is on North Italian flavours from Lombardy that Executive Chef Alessandro Pavoni brings to the table.
Gnocchi al cinghiale e maggiorana $17/$25 – Gnocchi, wild boar ragout, marjoram
Casoncelli alla Bresciana $16/$24 – Veal & Pork filled casoncelli, burnt butter, sage, crispy pancetta
Orecchiette gorgonzola e piselli $16/$24 – Orecchiette, gorgonzola sauce & peas
Risotto alla milanese $19/$27 – Saffron risotto, red wine braised beef
Pasta and risotto dishes come in two serving sizes depending on your appetite. The main courses range from $20 for a Spiedo Beef Burger to $38 for an aged grain-fed sirloin steak with salsa verde, or if you prefer, there are share plates available.
Whether you drop in for a quick lunch in between work hours or a more leisurely meal in the evening, the service is swift, attentive and Italian, that for a fleeting moment, you forget that you’re dining in a shopping centre.
Spiedo Restaurant and Stuzzi Bar – Go there for: Aperitivo hour, tasty North Italian fare with efficient service, flavours that bring you back, and if you’re lucky, the occasional glimpse at Alessandro Pavoni.

Love Spiedo! Big fan of their casoncelli and gnocchi. I keep going back. Yum!
PS Bite-sized reviews are a good idea!
So do we, Rosanna, and have taken a few people there! Which is why it was about time we featured it in a review 🙂
I have eaten at Ormeggio and enjoyed that but haven’y eaten here yet. I’d love to try the various pasta dishes, especially in this cold weather!
