Citibank NSW Wine Awards 2012 and Top 40 Tasting

The Citibank NSW Wine Awards for 2012 were held this week followed by a public tasting of the Top 40 wines at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Citibank customers and guests enjoyed a private tasting session prior to the event opening to the public. Key wine experts led small groups around the room, providing tasting notes of various varietals including some of the trophy winners.

Audrey Wilkinson 2006 Museum Reserve Semillon

The standout wine on taste was the Audrey Wilkinson 2006 Museum Reserve Semillon which won the Best Mature Dry White with its toasty vanilla and honeysuckle characterisitcs with some minerality. Other notable drops were the 2010 Grove Estate Nebbiolo from the Canberra districy and 2007 Hungerford Hill Epic Shiraz, the winner of the 2012 Citibank Wine of the Year.

Citibank customers and guests enjoyed prime seating while sipping on award winning wines at the CIP area (Citibank Important Person) with spectacular views of Sydney Harbour.

The Citibank NSW Wine Awards 2012 Tasting was held on Thursday 25 October 2012 at the Harbourside Room of the Museum of Contemporary Art.
