A rustic look with distressed walls, exposed light fittings, a painted mural and a long communal table gives the 50 person capacity bar its charm and character.

Intimate seating

The owners share a wealth of combined experience gained in high profile bars and spirit companies and they bring to Bulletin Place a neighbourhood style small bar serving quality spirits, cocktails, beer and wine without emphasis on a particular type of drink.

Cocktail list

On the back bar, you’ll find a selection of premium spirits with a cocktail list handwritten on a roll of hanging paper. The list changes daily and is based on fresh and seasonal produce instead of relying on fruit purées. Nectarines, which are currently in season feature on the cocktail menu. Cabrito Coffee Roasters supply fresh coffee which is used in Espresso Martinis.

Whisky crate

A whisky crate containing a rotating dozen sits at the bar and is brought to the table for those wishing to have a little tasting before deciding on their dram of choice.

Rustic design

The wine menu is pegged to cardboard cut outs and lists a select range of wines from Australia, Argentina, Spain, Italy, France and New Zealand. Wine is available by the glass at one fifth the price of a bottle, with two bottles of red and white wines opened at a time, decided by the first customers who order it. Sparkling wines and champagnes range from Pelorus NV, to R de Ruinart, Pol Roger to Krug Grande Cuvée.

Bulletin Place is the kind of small bar that can quickly turn into your local. The vibe is casual and unpretentious, with the owners ensuring you feel welcomed and well looked after. The cocktails are world class and the informative bar chat is there if that is your preference.

Perch yourself at the bar, sit along the banquettes or share the communal table. Either way, once you’ve experienced Bulletin Place for the first time, you’ll soon make it your neighbourhood bar.
