Wine Communicators of Australia Trophy Winners Lunch 2013

The Wine Communicators of Australia (WCA) Macquarie Group Sydney Royal Wine Show Trophy Winners Lunch for 2013 was held on Friday 15 February 2013 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre. The annual event featured Champion and Gold Medallists from the Sydney Fine Food and Cheese and Dairy produce shows and the announcement of the WCA Awards.

Guests, industry, winemakers and media were served the award winning 2004 Arras Grand Vintage on arrival along with canapés.

Angie Bradbury, National Chair of WCA MC’ed the event and introduced guest speakers who took to the podium and announced the winners.

Judy Saris, Editor of Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine announced Adrian Corker as the winner of the Gourmet Traveller Wine/WCA New Wine Writer Award in an entry entitled, Ageing Whines.

Mike Bennie was the recipient of the WCA Digital Communicator of the Year Award, and Tyson Stelzer was awarded the Australian Wine Communicator of the Year Award.

Phil Laffee

Phil Laffee was awarded the title of honorary life member of WCA.

The lunch showcased a three course menu designed by SCEC Executive Chef, Uwe Habermehl with a flight of award winning wines accompanying each course.
