De’ Longhi Launches Icona Vintage Collection

De’Longhi has launched the Icona Vintage collection, with a design inspired by its classic Italian heritage. The new retro range of home appliances is aimed at the emotional connection each product conveys.

The Gilt Lounge at the QT Hotel in Sydney transported guests back in time to the 1950s. Five stations featuring each style depicted a scenes from that era. Typewriters, old telephones and a vintage dressing tables were at home with matching sets of two and four-slice toasters, kettles and manual coffee machines.

The Icona Vintage collection features stylish curved silhouettes in 1950s inspired colours.

Icona Vintage ‘Dolce  Vita’ takes its inspiration from the time of La Dolce Vita in Rome with an elegant, glossy combination of cream and mahogany.

Icona Vintage ‘Etnica’ is of a timeless style with a tan-leather finish and piano-black touch points.

Inspired by the Italian olive, Icona Vintage ‘Olivia’ combines tan handles with a smooth olive green hue.

Fresh, bright and glossy sky blue in a pastel tone, Icona Vintage  ‘Anita’ coordinates with modern kitchens and brightens work surfaces.

Icona Vintage ‘Storica’ has a stylish opaque, black velvet finish with aged wood colour handles, and is well suited to country-styled kitchens.

For the launch, De’Longhi has partnered with stylist, Mr Jason Grant, who shared his tips on how to bring classic elegance to any home with the new range.

“Just because you have a sleek, modern home doesn’t mean you can’t add a vintage twist,” he explained. “The elegant curves of the Icona Vintage range work perfectly with the smooth lines of a new kitchen. My favourite colour in the Icona range is the ‘Anita’ sky blue  –  it looks stunning on  a modern white marble bench top.”

At the launch, guests enjoyed a delicious and hearty breakfast starting with Mini Tartlets of soft quail halves with ocean trout tartare, caviar & chives and two of the QT’s favourite dishes, Huevos Rancheros with 64 degree Organic Egg and Wood-grilled Farmhouse Breakfast.

With De’Longhi’s Icona Vintage collection, any kitchen can take a stylish trip back in time.

The Icona Vintage Collection media launch was held on Tuesday 12 March, 2013 at the QT Hotel.
