Cerveza Aguila Launch

Cerveza Aguila put on a colourful fiesta at the launch party of the Colombian beer held at The Paramount in Sydney’s Surry Hills.

Chelsea, the seven year old donkey welcomed guests near the entrance before they were offered a shot of Aguardiente Antioqueño, a Colombian anise-flavoured liqueur made from sugarcane.

A live Colombian band, dancers, performers and a confetti pit kept guests entertained throughout the evening with what seemed like an endless supply of Aguila beer. Tasty arepas (a flatbread made of ground corn) and empanadas with aji and guacamole kept the hunger pangs at bay.

First brewed in Barranquilla, Colombia in 1913, Cerveza Aguila has a reputation for being the celebration beer and the largest beer in the country. Pronounced “Ahh – gee laa” and meaning “eagle” in Spanish, the beer is made using Perle and Nugget hop varieties which deliver a subtle spicy note with a herbaceous clean palate. Light and refreshing, Aguila (ABV 4.0%) is easy drinking with a clean, smooth, full finish.

Aguila is available in select on premise venues around the country so keep an eye for it at your favourite bars and pubs.

The Aguila launch party was held on Sunday 25 August, 2013.

  1. Hi,
I’m just wondering if you know where I can get some Aguardiente in Sydney? Cheers
