Taylors Wines, the family owned estate in the Clare Valley has released the 2013 vintage of the popular Taylors Estate series. As the growing season was one of the driest experienced in 150 years, this has produced wines that are full of flavour. The high quality is apparent across the all wines, which show balance and a positive flavour development on the palate.
2013 Taylors Estate Wines
2013 Taylors Estate wines provide a quality match for food pairing. The Chardonnay, with its fresh flavours of stone fruit, clean elegant palate and a long finish matches well with Thai green curry or a spicy chicken korma.
The fruit-driven Pinot Noir with flavours of red cherry, spice and plum balanced against French oak provide length to the finish that pairs well with game meats and Peking duck.
The Merlot delivers softness to the palate with aromas of raspberry and cherry, while the oak maturation has hinted at vanilla and spices. This wine will complement a roast, Irish stew or baked figs.
The Shiraz is a well balanced wine that is rich and delivers ripened fruit characteristics with aromas of plum black current, dark cherry and oak derived spice. Matc h with antipasto and pastas.
Taylors Estate wines have recently received awards at the 2014 China Wine and Spirits Awards with both the Shiraz and Pinot Noir being awarded Gold in Best Value and the Merlot being awarded Silver.
Taylors Estate Wines have a recommended retail price of $18.95
