You can’t beat the location. Set in the grandeur and opulence of St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, The Gilbert Scott is one of the go-to dining destinations in London.
Entrance
Named after its architect, the restaurant’s décor leaves you in awe with an imposing entrance, ornately decorated ceilings and wrought-iron chandeliers.

The charm of the venue translates to a chic and classy vibe, retaining a sense of warmth and intimacy.

Two-star Michelin chef Marcus Wareing is at the helm with Head Chef Nick Ward in the kitchen. The extensive menu reflects British traditions with brasserie style dishes. A warning printed on the menu, “Game may contain shot”, is reflective of the produce you find on your plate.
Chargrilled Quail
From the starters comes the Chargrilled Quail (£8.00), generously portioned and glazed with maple porter and garnished with spring onions and micro herbs. Served pink and on the bone, it requires a little fork and knife effort but is worth every mouthful.
Wood Pigeon in a Pudding
There’s nothing like a classic Yorkshire pudding, and the Wood Pigeon in a Pudding (£19.50) is served in two steps. First, the pudding shell is presented before the meat is poured over with the sauce. The flavour is strong and gamey with lardons, mushrooms and mini onion, and the sauce is deliciously rich and comforting.
Buttered Jersey Royals
Buttered Jersey Royals (£4.00) make a hearty accompaniment,
Cauliflower Pudding
and the Cauliflower Pudding (£4.00) pairs well as a popular option for the carb-conscious.
Mrs Beeton’s Snow Egg
For dessert, Mrs Beeton’s Snow Egg (£7.00) is something of an institution at the Gilbert. The meringue is firm, filled with marmalade and topped with almonds served atop the custard – a distant cousin twice removed of the French Iles flottantes.
Kitchen Table
The Gilbert Scott offers a British brasserie dining experience in opulent surrounds. The menu impresses with Bristish classics adapted to a modern palate. Prices start from £7.50 for Starters and from £18.00 for the Main Event. Seating 10 persons, the Kitchen Table is located beneath the restaurant, facing the kitchen and is surrounded by the cellar. Bookings are highly recommended and it pays to arrive early to enjoy a drink at the adjacent Gilbert Scott bar.
