Bleu Blanc Rouge French Festival

Get ready to celebrate Bastille Day with the Bleu Blanc Rouge French Festival running this weekend from Friday 11 July to Sunday 13 July.

Returning for the second year, the forecourt of Customs House will take on the tricolore for France’s National Day – le quatorze juillet /14th of July – with 3 live concerts, French food, cooking masterclasses, artist performances, cabaret and an outdoor film inspired by French style.

A free Cabaret show by the Slide group will be showcasing dancers and singers on stage and an open air cinema with free screening of a French film will run from 8:30pm to 10:30pm on opening night.

Festival ambassador, Emmanuel Mollois will be leading the festival by opening with Consul de France and hosting French patisserie master classes. French Chef Aymeric Saint-Lannes of Slide in Darlinghurst will teach guests how to prepare a 3 course French menu during a hands-on master class. Tickets to the event cost $89 with the degustation and a glass of wine.

Born and raised in Gascony, France, Chef Aymeric Saint-Lannes was formerly referred to as d’Artagnan de la cuisine. As a young boy, he worked with his father at at their family restaurant before attaining 5 years of formal culinary training. Inspired by his grandmother’s cook book which he inherited, he is passionate about traditional French cuisine. The masterclass he is presenting includes a three course menu as follows: Clarence River School Prawns Bisque, Seared Scallop and Pernod Mornay on the Shell, Roast Duck Breast Bush Pepperberry Bordelaise with Dubarry Gratin Dauphinois, and Vanilla Bourbon Crème Brulee served with Almond Tuile.
