Alpha Food Store officially launched last night with Ouzo cocktails and a tasting of Greek artisan products from the specialist store.

Located adjacent to Alpha Restaurant along Castlereagh Street, Alpha offers an on-the-go menu which is a casual take on the restaurant’s menu by head chef Peter Conistis. Think freshly-made Greek pies, spanakopita muffins, pies with fillings such as lamb, chicken and three cheese, and Greek cakes and pastries. Will & Co takeaway coffee is available, as well as freshly-brewed Greek coffee.

The store sells food products imported from Greece from artisan producers. The shelves tempt with chocolate tahini, organic olives, aged balsamic vinegar from Santorini, vanilla and thyme honey as well as olive oils such as Eliris Extraordinary Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Alpha Hampers

Alpha offers a range of hampers that include Greek food products in a branded shopping bag. Choose from three sizes, Athena ($100), Demeter ($200) and Zeus ($300).  The hampers are available from the food store or online.

Alpha Food Store is open Monday to Friday from 7:30am until late.
