Johnnie Walker has unveiled its Johnnie Walker Blue Label Room at The Stables Sydney this week where the VIP event was hosted by Sean Baxter, National Brand Ambassador for Diageo Reserve Whisky and MasterChef Australia 2014 contestant.
Located on level 4 of Randwick Racecourse’s new grandstand, the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Room is a members’ only premium space branded with the luxury blended whisky insignia. The sophisticated lounge area includes leather chairs, glass cabinetry with rare whiskies and a hand-woven compass set rug measuring the distance from Cardhu (the spiritual home of Johnnie Walker in Scotland) to Sydney. The ceiling is the centre piece, featuring an illuminated whisky constellation that maps various distilleries in Scotland.

Out on the terrace, a wood-cased bar invites more casual sipping with spectacular views over the city skyline. Members of The Stables can purchase and drink from their very own Johnnie Walker Blue Label bottle which can be stored securely store at the venue for subsequent visits.
At the launch, guests were greeted with the ‘Blue Silk’ Old Fashioned, a sweeter take on the old fashioned cocktail, made with Johnnie Walker Blue Label with salted caramel syrup, maple syrup and a smoked apricot bitters.
Whisky Ambassador, Sean Baxter, led a tasting of Johnnie Walker Blue Label, highlighting the fruity, smoky and smooth character of the whisky blend. He will feature ongoing tastings at the Blue Label Room for members and their guests.
Tasty canapés curated by Sean and the team at The Stables Sydney followed. The menu included Oysters with shallot and whisky vinaigrette; Tartar of white fish, chilli, finger lime and fennel pollen; BBQ rib eye cubes; Stuffed Swiss Brown mushrooms; Braised Pork Belly, fennel slaw and mustard fruits; and to finish, lamington and brownie.
With its elevated position, sophisticated ambiance and views over the city, the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Room is an ideal spot for special events in a luxurious environment.
