Clubhouse, Rosebery

Clubhouse in Rosebery is a surprising venue, located below the Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) headquarters in a former warehouse along Botany Road.

With exposed steel and concrete floor, the fitout gives a nod to its industrial past. The spacious venue offers an open and uninterrupted flow to the adjoining wooden deck area at the front. Downstairs, the Saloon Bar and Lounge Room can be hired for a range of events.

The impressive yet subtle SLSA history on display gives the Clubhouse a beachside feel. In fact, the only thing missing is the surf.

The Clubhouse Bar

From Boards and Bites, Sides to Substantial selections,  menu offerings consist of breakfast, lunch and dinner showcasing international cuisine with emphasis on plate sharing.

The drinks list is extensive and includes beer on tap (from $7.50) and bottle beer (from $7.50), wine served by the glass or bottle and cocktails (from $17).

A progressive food tasting organised by Julian Damjano, General Manager and Head Chef Jin Yeong (ex Bistro Moncur) starts with a fresh Tomato Salad ($8).

Spicy Chicken Wings

For those who love all the spicy and fire that chicken wings can deliver, the Spicy Chicken Wings ($14) is a dish not to be missed. The spicy flavour is well-infused into the mixture and the chicken meat is tender while the coriander garnish and lime lifts the flavour – a truly finger lickin’ dish.

Spiced Lamb Ribs

According to Julian, the preparation of Spiced Lamb Ribs ($24) takes 24 hours. The lamb ribs are smothered in a mixture of aromatic spices then slow-baked for hours. The meat is so tender that it literally falls off the bone. The tahini yoghurt, mint, za’atar and pomegranate dressing compliment this stellar dish.

Chocolate Mousse with Hazelnut Chantilly

There is no better to finishing a meal than with the decadent Chocolate Mousse with Hazelnut Chantilly ($14) with chocolate shortbread and raspberry coulis.
