Best New Sydney Restaurant & Bar Openings – November 2015

As everyone counts down to that summer break, here are the latest new venues to try plus a couple we have to wait for.

New Venues

Della Hyde

Della Hyde gives a nod to those lobby bars of the grand hotels of yesteryear, serving up sophisticated cocktails in a setting to match. If peckish there is bar food that includes a touch of North Africa. Della Hyde is the latest from the team behind Bondi Hardware, The Botanist, The Butler and Socal. More about Della Hyde here.

Zeus Street Greek

Zeus Street Greek serves up fresh Greek food at its latest in Rosebery. Think pitas, Greek salads plus lamb, pork and chicken from the souvla with maybe a drop of Greek wine. Dine in or they have home delivery if you are close by if can’t make it down. This is venue number four for Zeus with two more coming soon in Dulwich Hill and Cronulla  .

Saké Live & Saké Jr.

The Saké family is set to expand in 2016 with two new openings.

Saké Jr. is described as a fast fine-casual concept, serving up pristine, market-fresh, seasonal ingredients that are gluten, preservative and GMO free. Still using Saké’s signature flavours, options include customized noodle or rice meals with diners able to select vegetables, sauces and for example toppings plus of course there are the signature dishes. Saké Jr. is set to open mid-2016 in the CBD.

Saké Live brings the tastes, sounds and lights of Tokyo to Sydney. There will be largest robatayaki grill and sushi bar in the city, showcasing innovative food dishes that are paired with over one hundred signature cocktails. Add in a see through DJ stage and plus media and art installations and this will be big. Saké Live is set to open mid-2016.

MCA Gin Garden Pop Up

As part of the Sydney International Art Series, at the same time as Grayson Perry: My Pretty Little Art Career, catch this MCA Gin Garden Pop Up on the outdoor terrace with cocktails by Archie Rose Distillery and craft beers from Young Henrys with views over the harbour. INDU Dining

INDU Dining brings the taste of Southern India into its heritage building home in the CBD. Coming together are the diverse and fresh flavours from the busy villages to fine dining in India using the best of seasonal produce. Lot. 1 Sydney

Lot. 1 Sydney has already been serving coffee but will open its restaurant doors before years end with a stunning fitout. Traditional Italian food with a twist inspired by the part  heritage of Chef Adam Swanson will be the feature. There will be an aperitivo hour and two underground bars to open early in the new year. Yakitori Yurippi

Yakitori Yurippi is bringing a taste of Japan to Crows Nest. Enjoy share plates and the selection of yakitori all using the freshest of ingredients accompanied by a  selection of Japanese beers. Darlo Country Club

Darlo Country Club is at the former Victoria Room site with country club chic and serving up brasserie dishes made to share. The cocktails showcase classics and signatures with some designed to pair with the food. Read more on Darlo Country Club here.
