MediTrainean, Crows Nest

Imagine a sushi train but with Mediterranean mezze. That’s is the concept at MediTrainean, a new venue that has opened in Crows Nest.

MediTrainean Crows Nest

You’ve heard of Mascot’s Mezza Train serving Lebanese food, MediTrainean is all about Mediterranean style dishes served on a conveyor belt. Start with dips ($4.90) such as yoghurt with garlic and mint or the garlic dip blended with lemon juice and oil. Salads ($6.90) include Casarece, Pearl Couscous and hot smoked salmon. From the Small Plates ($6.90), there’s a vegetarian version of Vine Leaves, Stuffed Mussels with rice and caramelised onions and the usual arancini, meatballs in napolitana sauce and Calamari with garlic and lime aioli. Should you feel like something from the grill, scallops come in half shell with dukkah gratin ($12.90) and minced Lamb skewers ($9.90) are accompanied by a side of lemon and tzatziki.
