World Tequila Day

Did you know there’s a day dedicated to Tequila? World Tequila Day falls on Sunday 24 July and here’s where to celebrate the agave spirit in Sydney.

World Tequila Day

World Tequila Day at Tio’s

For the two weeks prior to World Tequila Day, Tio’s in Surry Hills is showcasing a special menu focusing around a limited tequila list and some bespoke cocktails. On World Tequila Day, Australia’s best agave importers will be celebrating independent artisanal tequila by offering a chance to taste the spirits of independent distilleries and distributors for free. If you missed out on Mezcal March earlier in the year, you wouldn’t want to miss out on this opportunity to appreciate some of the finest tequila in this country.

Tio’s Cervecería, 4-14 Foster St, Surry Hills, Sunday 24 July, 3pm to 10 pm

World Tequila Day at Earl’s Juke Joint

Earl’s Juke Joint in Newtown is also celebrating World Tequila Day on the Sunday. Four bartenders have created four bespoke cocktails for the day using four different brands of tequila. Join them in the celebration and what’s more, $2 from every drink if going towards cancer research so you will be celebrating with a cause.

Earl’s Juke Joint, 407 King St, Newtown, Sunday 24 July from 4pm to 10 pm

Tequila at Home

If you can’t make it to any of these venues, you can easily whip up a cocktail at home with our step by step guide on how to make the perfect Margarita.

There’s so much more to tequila than shots so this World Tequila Day, take the opportunity to taste something new and raise a glass to the agave spirit. ¡Salud!
