The Electrolux Appetite for Excellence Awards for 2106 were announced last night at Mojo by Luke Mangan.

Electrolux Appetite for Excellence Hunt and Gather Dinner

On the previous night, the 2016 Electrolux Appetite for Excellence National Australian Young Waiter and Young Chef Finalists created a Hunt and Gather themed pop-up restaurant held at the Electrolux Showcase in Mascot. Exclusively available to just 56 diners, seven distinct three course meals were paired with matching drinks.

Focussed on a Hunt and Gather theme, the finalists drew inspiration from the Produce Tour that they joined in early July where they visited  an organic garlic farm, free range chicken and pork farms, a gin distillery, fishing, oyster farming, wineries and a trip to a camel farm.

Our table was in the capable hands of Chef Aaron Ward from Sixpenny in NSW (Electrolux Australian Young Waiter 2016) and Waiter George Papaioannou from Luxembourg in Victoria.
