After arrival on the red carpet, guests were treated to Wuliangye cocktails and canapés before taking their seats to enjoy dinner that paired back to the flavours of the cocktails and the spirit on arrival. Before dinner and after the national anthems of both nations, a toast to friendship was made once Wuliangye from the white carafes of the spirit was poured. Throughout dinner guests were entertained with the like of firedancers, a string quartet, a stunning Biàn Liǎn performance, solo singer, martial arts display and Chinese dance.

Dinner commenced with the entrées of Cured Wild Atlantic Salmon with mango purée, lime and coriander emulsion and pickled cucumber disc and Grilled King Prawn, sze chuan chili gel compressed watermelon and lemon curd both paired the fruit notes of Wuliangye.

The main courses of Steam Gold Band Snapper with steamed bok Choy, gingery lemon soy sauce and lotus crisps and Range valley Wagyu Beef Tenderloin with braised white radish, kai lan and roasted garlic soy sauce looked to the more savoury elements of Wuliangye.

The desserts of Date and ginger pudding, coconut poppy seed ice cream and cinnamon toffee anglaise and Lychee and Matcha Cream, mandarin, mint sorbet and cashew nut crackers brought out the sweeter elements of the spirit.

The Wuliangye Cultural World Tour Sydney was held at The Star on Friday 25 November 2016.
