Vivid Sydney 2017: Where to Eat and Drink

Vivid Sydney, the festival of light, music and ideas is back for 2017 running from Friday 26th May to Saturday 17th June.

With so many events, installations and shows around, we’ve put together a round up of where to eat and drink during Vivid Sydney 2017:

Milk N Sugar Dessert Hub

Vivid 2017

Vivid Sydney will be transforming the Overseas Passenger Terminal Circular Quay into a boutique dessert experience by introducing its first ever dessert markets, titled ‘Milk N Sugar.’ Dessert vendors includeSugar High Desserts, Kayter Co, Brooklyn Boys Bagels, Burger Butlers, Scoopolicious, Nutie, Hungary Bites, Khao Sun and Fluffy Crunch. 26-28 May 2017 at the Arrival Hall of Overseas Passenger Terminal Circular Quay.

Opera Bar

Opera Bar is bringing festival-goers a pop-up hypno video booth every night from 6-10pm, where unlike your average photobooth, the images will be projected around the venue. Live music, light installations and bespoke cocktails are also on the agenda.

Grain Bar

Vivid 2017

Grain Bar will be serving up a special signature cocktail inspired by the colours of Vivid Sydney. The violet-glowing Viva Violetta cocktail ($18) will be made with purple-coloured Ink Gin from NSW’s Northern Rivers, which gets its unique shade from an infusion of Butterfly Pea flower petals.

The Ternary @ Novotel on Darling Harbour Dinner Menu

The Ternary at Novotel on Darling Harbour will be offering a special dinner menu for those visiting the Darling Harbour Vivid Sydney Light, Music and Ideas Festival. The Ternary, with its breathtaking views of Sydney’s Darling Harbour, is the perfect location to dine prior to venturing out and discovering all that this vibrant city has to offer during Vivid 2017. Enjoy a VIVID inspired two or three course menu with a 100’s and 1000’s cocktail to match. For the little ones, children (4-15) can choose from the delicious Kids A La Carte menu as well as a VIVID inspired entertainment glow pack and map (6) to be enjoyed whilst embarking on an exciting journey to the dazzling light art across the city.

Sip, Bite, See at Martin Place Bar

Martin Place Bar is the ideal first stop before venturing out and exploring all Sydney has to offer for Vivid. Settle those hunger pangs and refuel before you endeavour on an exhilarating experience throughout Vivid with your choice of Mini Beer-Battered Flathead with Fries and Tartare Sauce or Spiced Chicken Wings with Ranch Dressing plus a middy of Heineken or glass of white or red wine ($14). Families welcome and on offer daily from 5pm. 

No. 1 Bent Street

No. 1 Bent Street is offering a $50 festival menu. Expect homemade sourdough with cultured butter, twice-baked goat’s cheese soufflé, ash-baked eggplant and a choice of daily fish or slow-braised lamb shoulder with stewed chard and tapenade. Available 22 May – 16 June, lunch Mon – Fri and dinner Mon – Sat 5.30-7pm; 8.30pm onwards.

Zephyr Bar

Vivid 2017 

Zephyr Bar’s panoramic views and luxurious setting will provide an unrivalled location for enjoying the spectacular Magicians in the Mist which will dazzle onlookers each night from May 26 to June 17. Best to book in advance to be assured of a good spot.

Express Dinner at Song Kitchen

Song Kitchen Sydney will offer a $40 two-course express dinner (with one complimentary glass of wine) so you can venture off and enjoy the lights, music and ideas that VIVID has to offer. #eatforgood at Song Kitchen as 100% of the profits help fund important projects run by the YWCA NSW to support victims of domestic violence. Offer valid Tuesday – Friday with mention of Express Dinner at time of dining.

Banksii Vodka Cocktail Cart

Banksii‘s cocktail cart will be lit up for the festival, serving vodka cocktails with glow-in-the-dark swizzle sticks and house-made fairy floss. And to fuel you through the night, check out an early bird special menu, evenings from 5pm – 6:30pm.
