Rosetta Sydney to Bring Italian Dining to the CBD

Rosetta Sydney by Rockpool Dining Group of the recently opened Jade Temple is set to open on Tuesday 15 August. Here’s what to expect.

Located in Grosvenor Place at the northern end of the CBD, Rosetta starts at the ground floor which extends outside to a terrace bar catering for 60 guests. An internal staircase leads to a bar which accommodates around 28 guests, then onwards again to a mezzanine dining space for around 50 diners with a sultry vibe and a palette of smoky greys and chocolate hues.

The interior design and styling by Melissa Collison features a curved wall of floor-to-roof windows bathing the restaurant with natural light and enhancing an Amalfi Coast inspired palette of emerald green and sapphire blue. The ground floor accommodates 90 diners and overlooks a large, open kitchen with a crudo and mozzarella bar. A kitchen window also exposes the restaurant to the corner of Harrington and Essex Streets in full view of passers-by.

The menu takes you through from a seafood course to crudo, antipasti, pizzette, pasta and secondi with produce from sustainable suppliers and farmers, including Marine Stewardship Certified yellowfin tuna from Mooloolaba, and King George Whiting, John Dory and squid from Corner Inlet, Victoria. Meat dishes such as vitello tonnato, veal tartare, osso bucco and cotoletta are sourced from milk-fed veal from southern NSW.

On the cocktail front, expect Cold Drip Café Americano, slushy Sgroppino and Bellinis rotating seasonally. You’ll find  aperitivos, digestivos, a bitters section with five variations of Negroni, classic Italian and local beers, over 30 gins and an extensive collections of whisk(e)y grappa, brandies and rum.

Rosetta’s wine list takes you through the regions of Italy showcasing the classics and some of the more diverse. Home grown Italian varietals feature throughout with many local favourites rounding out the selection.
