Burgerhood to Open Balmain

The team behind Sydney venues Grandma’s Bar, The Wild Rover and Wilhelmina’s are set to open Burgerhood in Balmain at the end of November.

Burgerhood

Burgerhood, a brand new burger joint on Darling Street in Balmain will be serving American style potato bun burgers, salads and free soft serve along with classic ice cream shakes, sodas, beer and wine. The venue is located next door to Wilhelmina’s wine bar, in fact in one half of what is Wilhelmina’s. The other half known for its vino, share plates and wine tastings will be staying the same with a fresh new food menu.

Co-owners James Bradey and Warren Burns are creating a fun and playful space out of the front room of the heritage listed Institute Arcade that claims to serve up the juiciest, tastiest burgers in the neighbourhood. They have spent months eating burgers at haunts from Sydney to Chicago and the west coast of USA before everyone agreed on what Warren says is “the perfect ratio of meat, soft bun and cheese”.

In addition to the flagship American style ‘Hood Burger’ expect to see a fish, vegan and a Bloody Mary burger on the menu with gluten free options alongside crispy fries, two salads and a selection of Pats and Sticks Ice Cream. To top off the Burgerhood experience, they’re giving everyone who dines in a cone so they can pour themselves a soft serve on the way out. If one cone of soft serve just isn’t enough, the team will give you another for a gold coin donation to the local primary school, Nicholson Street Public.

Burgerhood is set to open in late November and will be moving into the neighbourhood with a bang by putting on free burgers for their launch.
