This March, Dan Murphy’s invites you to discover and celebrate the drink trends of 2018 with an interactive pop-up located in the heart of Sydney in an abandoned heritage house, the ‘House of Discovery’.
Learn how to mix the perfect martini, spot a quality tequila and stock your home bar with all of the must-haves as you weave your way through each room to the beats of DJ Flex Mami.
Each room of the Chippendale-located house will be decked out and stocked up with installations and drinks which reflect current drinking habits and trends including:
- Tequila – learn about tequila including the different styles, how to enjoy it. The agave garden path will transport you to the agave fields of Mexico where you’ll learn to tell and taste the difference between tequila blanco, reposado and anejo.
- At home bartender – the space will be split into two bars, the Tiki Bar and the 1950’s Martini Bar where guests will have the opportunity to taste these signature cocktails and learn how to make their own.
- Drinks first, food second – finish the House of Discovery journey in the courtyard where you’ll be treated to a ‘drinks first, food second’ experience, where dishes served from Sydney’s favourite Spice Alley are matched to a curated drinks list.
With DJ Flex Mami on the tunes and a drinks list curated by Charlie Ainsbury (ex This Must Be The Place), the Dan Murphy’s House of Discovery promises education and inspiration for anyone looking to up their drinks game.
