The 3 Winos 2015

The 3 Winos event returned to the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney with day-long tastings, and masterclasses. The annual trade show by Combined Wines, Winestock and World Wine Estates offers the industry the chance to try a vast range of local and international wines and champagnes.

One of the highlights of the event was the booked out Crystal Head Vodka masterclass which was presented by Dan Aykroyd. He regaled everyone with the story of Crystal Head Vodka, sharing a Martini and introducing the new product in the range, Crystal Head Vodka Aurora made from English-grown wheat from North Yorkshire and water from St John’s, Newfoundland. Another highlight was the Champagne Masterclass with Laurent-Perrier and Bruno Paillard presented by Mike Bennie and Tyson Stelzer. Three brackets and ten champagnes were on taste, highlighting the contrasting styles of the two champagne houses. Discussions centred around the lack of transparency in disgorgement dates, the increasing number of vintage champagnes and what makes grandes marques.

Fishtales returned with their famous paella made with sustainable seafood. Yasa Caviar attracted a steady crowd with their fresh unpasteurised caviar.

In the evening, a select number of trade and media were invited to the Crystal Head After Party featuring a special Blues Show, performed by the man himself, Dan Aykroyd.

The 3 Winos Event was held on Monday 9 August 2015 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney.
