Jameson Caskmates Releases Young Henrys Edition

Jameson Irish Whiskey and Young Henrys have joined forces to create the first Australian whiskey partnership for Jameson Caskmates, a limited edition Jameson Caskmates Young Henrys Edition.

Distilling Irish Whiskey since 1780, the makers of Jameson Irish Whiskey are no strangers to innovative collaboration. After an extended courting period with their good mates Young Henrys, the two brands have joined forces to conceive the first Australian whiskey partnership for Jameson Caskmates - a special, limited edition Jameson Caskmates Young Henrys Edition. Inspired by the original Jameson Caskmates colla-beer-ation between Midleton Distillery and Cork’s Franciscan Well Brewery, this new whiskey with a local twist has also been aged in beer-seasoned barrels. Following Young Henrys’ highly successful release of Craic & Barrel, a cheeky Irish Red Ale aged in Jameson Irish Whiskey casks last October, it seemed only right that they return the flavour. Ten freshly soaked red ale barrels were emptied and sent back on the 17,000km journey from Newtown, Sydney to the home of Jameson in Midleton, Co. Cork where they were re-acquainted with smooth mature Irish whiskey. The Jameson Caskmates Young Henrys Edition was born, with new notes of caramel, malt and subtle hops all supported by a mild pot still spiciness. In the spirit of true collaboration, the Young Henrys crew followed their barrels back to Ireland in June where they were immersed in the craftsmanship particular to this limited release. Oscar, Dan and Andy spent time with 5th generation Master Cooper Ger Buckley and the Head of Whiskey Science David Quinn who pioneered this idea of exchanging barrels which resulted in Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition
